The ‘death of the author' is the 'birth of the reader.

Roland Barthes

I became an improvised archaeologist after the fire erased the traces of half of my life, removing objects, melting photographs and destroying the family farm. My instincts pushed me to observe, capture, classify and look around for something recognisable. I call this work Archaeology of Ashes because I have been collecting the traces that remained after the fire devoured almost everything. Fieldwork began shortly after the fire occurred. In a night full of despair, confusion and fear, we saved the farm animals. Nevertheless, nature gave us a lesson: the power of its elements exceeds that of any human being.
